In 1880, the Rauschenbach family takeover took over the IWC watch, and the thin and slim women’s watch movement quickly became the new favorite on the IWC’s production line. Cal. 63 and 64 movement, once launched, attracted much attention, becoming the favorite pocketbook for ladies. Since 1900, ladies began to wear exquisite timepieces as brooches or pendants. IWC is packed with a collection of exquisite cases obsessed and delighting female customers, lavishly decorated with delicate motifs, some of them adorned in Art Nouveau style.

The Caliber 431 was introduced in 1954 as the smallest watch movement in the history of IWC, featuring an oval design measuring 11.3 x 15.25 mm. From 1954 to 1971, the watch movement produced about 48,000 pieces.

From the 1950s to the 1960s, the designs of jewelry timepieces were still dominated by elegant and practical styles. IWC decided to carefully expand the brand jewelry series, to further consolidate the leading watchmaking field status. Among them, Ref. 6101 watch can be described as a model for this period. From 1973 to 1978, this exclusive limited edition watch produced only 64 pieces worldwide.

In the 1970s, IWC’s Jewelry Timepieces range has been established. During this period, at least one-third of IWC’s customer base sales came from female customers. From 1970 to 1977, the Ref. 7400 produced 69 pieces of watches worldwide.

In 1976 IWC introduced the Stain-less steel (SL) series, a collection of luxury watches made of stainless steel and stainless steel.
